German schlager singer Howard Carpendale and his first wife, Claudia Herzfeld, have finalized their divorce in Cologne, Germany, 24 years after their separation. The couple married in 1979 and had one son, Wayne, who is also an actor and presenter.

Carpendale, who was born in South Africa, has since remarried and has three children with his second wife, Donnice Pierce. He and Herzfeld separated in 1984, but their divorce was not finalized until now.
